Abstract

Pour obtenir des pièces frittées, notamment des éléments filtrants, on granule une fine poudre d'alumine ou autre oxyde (pour former des granules de densité apparente d'au moins 40 % de la densité réelle), on sélectionne les granules d'une certaine fraction granulométrique (de préférence entre 25 et 75 mu ) et on utilise ces granules comme les grains d'une poudre normale à fritter. Grâce à la présence des grains fins dans les granules, après le formage qui peut être effectué par compression, extrusion, moulage en moules rigides, etc. le frittage peut être mené à bien à une température de 1 550 à 1 750 degrés C (contre environ 1 850 à 1 850 degrés C pour le frittage des poudres normales). En outre, l'uniformité des caractéristiques de dimensions et de compression des granules utilisés permet d'obtenir avec certitude la porosité et la perméabilité voulues.
