Abstract

The interior of a car has the passenger seat (2) tilting forwards and its back (3) tilting backwards to give greater loading platform area. In the folded position, there is a vertical screen (8, 9, 10) on one side of the back (3). The screen consists of a flange (8), solid with the back (3) and a strap or chain (9) between the loading platform (4) and the tilting seat (2). This is held under tension. A cable (10) is looped from two points on the flange (8) and over the strap or chain. The strap or chain is fixed to the loading platform by a bracket (6). The screen can be a hinged panel.
