Abstract

A forced flow cold chamber has ventilating openings (2) front and rear and a heat exchanger (3) near the top, with an extraction fan (4) inside or duct (5) over the top. This heat exchanger has dry units (6) alternating with trickle type wet units, along the interior. The housing has a supply duct (9) along the front at high level near the ends of the wet and dry units, which run front to rear. Water supply tubes a run from the duct and spray water from the wet units by direct contact. At the rear are outlet pipes (17) for the dry units which form an indirect contact system. Above the front supply duct (3) are water collectors (19) which discharge into the duct (9) below.
