Abstract

L'invention concerne un protecteur d'extrémité pour élément tubulaire, en particulier pour les extrémités filetées des tubes utilisés dans les travaux pétrolifères. Le protecteur pour extrémité mâle comporte un membre externe rigide 8 (en métal, par exemple) renfermant un membre interne élastique 9 (en matière synthétique, par exemple) dont la cavité interne présente une conicité et un filetage 10 correspondant à ceux de la partie mâle du tube, ainsi qu'une surface jointive transversale 11 établissant un contact étanche avec une surface correspondante du tube. Des méplats 16 et des alésages 15 facilitent l'action d'outils de vissage et de dévissage. Le protecteur pour extrémité femelle est identique mais inversement constitué. Les protecteurs selon l'invention protègent les extrémités des tubes, en facilitent le stockage et permettent le passage de mandrins de vérification de rectilinéarité des assemblages tubulaires.
