Abstract

A lens holder is used by dispensing opticians. It enables the correct lenses with minimum diameter to be chosen and ensures their correct positioning within the users spectacle frame with respect to spacing and level of users pupil centres. The holder is used with one eye at a time and is employed with the users own spectacle frame. The holder has a series of transparent mounts, to accommodate standard lens sizes, each of which may be coloured for identification and has calibration lines marked on it including primary and secondary centering markings. The holder is also applicable to bifocal lenses.
