Abstract

L'invention concerne la préparation de l'éthylène glycol. Conformément à l'invention, on prépare l'éthylène glycol en mettant de l'oxyde de carbone, de l'hydrogène et du formaldéhyde en contact en présence d'un catalyseur comprenant du rhodium ou un composé de rhodium et éventuellement un cobalt carbonyle. L'avantage du procédé conforme à l'invention réside dans le fait qu'il s'effectue en une étape.
