Abstract
The oxycutter follows a cutting path determined by an optical system which follows a model. This is performed by a TV camera with circular sweep of the beam. The optical pulses are converted into electrical control signals for the cutter. A TV camera with a circular sweep optically explores a line or edge such that the sweep point and a reference point appear at separate points on the circumference of a circle. The instantaneous difference between the two points is converted into electrical signals to control motors driving the cutter. The central point of the circle is kept on the line being explored.
