Abstract

L'invention concerne l'enrichissement, en un constituant choisi, d'un mélange gazeux grâce à une technique d'adsorption avec variation cyclique de la pression. On fait passer de manière cyclique le mélange gazeux d'alimentation, sous pression, successivement dans un premier lit qui adsorbe préférentiellement l'un des constitutants non voulus du mélange et dans un second lit qui adsorbe préférentiellement l'autre constituant, de façon à obtenir un gaz partiellement enrichi; on désorbe les lits à contre-courant vers un évent; on enlève le gaz résiduel en mettant les lits sous vide; on restaure dans les lits la pression pour l'adsorption en introduisant du gaz ayant la qualité voulue pour etre le produit et enfin on introduit du gaz partiellement enrichi pour obtenir le gaz voulu, puis l'on répète la suite des opérations. L'invention convient particulièrement bien pour séparer l'argon d'un mélange gazeux comprenant également O2 et N2 , par exemple l'air ou une alimentation riche en argon que l'on peut prélever sur la colonne de rectification d'une installation de séparation cryogénique des constituants de l'air.
