Abstract

The curds wringing press partic. for cheese making on farms has a semi-cylindrical ram movable up and down and which also can be rotated in a horizontal plane. From a continuously rotating drive shaft a drive is taken to the ram to impart to it an up-and-down movement, while a second drive indexes it through an angle when near the uppermost position. this allows the press to operate automatically from a power source such as a motor with reduction gear. The reciprocating and indexing drives can be taken to a number of presses at a time, the stroke of each press being adaptable to suit the amount of curds in the vessel in which it works, while maintaining constant pressure on the curds.
