Abstract

The stress limiting connection consists of strands of rope (2) with lengths (3) and (4). One end of the strand (3) is rigidly fixed to a lock and the other end is calmped down by a fitting (8). A rigidly pressed-on bushing (13) is fitted to the end protruding from the clamp. The other strand (4) is fitted at one end rigidly to the fitting near the lock by a bushing. The other end is clamped in a fitting (8) with the end protruding from this fitting attached rigidly to an eyelet (6) by a bushing (7). The pressure of the clamp (8) can be adjusted by bolts (11, 12) with spring washers under the heads. The clamp is adjusted such a way that beyond a certain stress, which still can be endured by the body without injury, the fitting (8) glides along the strand (4).
