Abstract

The brake may be applied hydraulically or pneumatically or by means of an electro magnet having a soft iron core which moves against a plate to maintain a gap. The disc brakes operate between the pressure pads. The spindle is connected to the lever arm (22) at one end. The lever arm is connected to the housing. The compression springs allow the piston (34) to move against the pull of the electromagnet, adjusting the position of the friction pads.
