Abstract

The multi-impression rotary printing press has several stations around a common drum. Each station has its own inking unit, perfect register being ensured by an initial rough setting, followed by a fine adjustment. The rough setting uses a line on each printing roller shaft aligned with a fixed mark on the machine. A fine adjustment mechanism uses a pilot shaft, rotated manually or by a motor. This moves an arm having rollers engaging a cam track on a helical gear, displaced axially inside a drive gear for the roller unit, modifying the relative position between this and the printing roller.
