Abstract

Le secteur technique de l'invention est celui de la production électrolytique de carbonate de métaux alcalins. L'invention se rapporte à l'obtention d'un carbonate de métal alcalin par électrolyse d'un chlorure de métal alcalin dans une cellule électrolytique à séparateur formé d'une pellicule de polymère fluoré ayant des groupes sulfonate et/ou sulfonamide avec injection d'anhydride carbonique dans le compartiment cathodique transformant l'hydroxyde de métal alcalin formé à la cathode en un sel de carbonate de métal alcalin, et utilisation d'une intensité de courant d'électrolyse qui réduit le chlorure de métal alcalin en sel carbonaté de façon que la concentration en chlorure de métal alcalin restant soit inférieure à 400 ppm.
