Abstract
The direction in azimuth of a radio transmission is determined by a radiogoniometer. Interference and propagation irregularities are reduced by using a number of aerials which are switched automatically into the receiver. Two direction finding aerial systems (A, B) with vertical polarisation are each coupled to orthogonal inductors (5, 6) in the centre of which an inductor (7) is rotated continuously by a synchronous motor (8). A capacitive coupler (9) permits connection to a line (10) connected to a receiver matching unit (11) which enables connection (12) to be made to a display. The oscilloscopic display receives signals via a distribution box which operates automatically to connect antennas as a function of received power.
