Abstract

The underwater cross-bow string tensioner comprises a grooved pulley (5), to which a rope is attached, for winding and unwinding. This pulley is driven by an eccentric pinion (12), meshing with the internal gear ring formed inside it. There may be pulleys turning freely on opposite ends of a spindle and both driven by pinions meshing with their gear rings. The pinions, in turn are driven by a lockable hand crank. The drive shaft may be coupled to the crank by a universal joint, enabling it to be retracted for locking, and having a mating flat for that on the pinion.
