Abstract

The apparatus has an atomiser for injecting a spray of water and fuel into the engine intake passage. Fuel vapour is collected in a chamber from which it flows to the inlet, of the atomiser. The vapour flows in a pipe which passes through the engine exhaust manifold to heat it. Water is drawn from a further reservoir to an inlet in the injector the water passing through a nozzle at its inlet to the injector. The water and heated vapour mix and are injected adjacent the throttle butterfly in the engine intake.
