Abstract

A hinge arrangement for a vehicle seat. It consists of a cheek (1) with holes (2) to joint to the seat frame. The upper part is roughly circular and has a concentric seating for a hollow pin. There is a second cheek (5) with holes (6) to join to the seat back frame. This also has a concentric seatings. The inside of the first cheek has a toothed part (9) and a similar roothed part is provided in the second cheek. A double planet is placed between the two cheeks and is supported by a cam mounted on a shaft, with balls in between. The toothed parts are easily made and positive and easy adjustment of the seat is given by varying meshing of the toothed parts.
