Abstract

The tree trunk feeding and branch pruning devide has a feed section (F) formed from smooth friction rollers such as rubber tyres. The pruning section (K) is formed by a movably mounted pruning tool (12) which joins on the trunk and has minimum force components in the trunk longitudinal direction. The pruning tools are in the form of a set of cutters (12) which are carried by a holding mechanism guided on the trunk. The holding mechanism can turn in a plane which is tangential with the trunk surface. Each cutting tool (12) with its drive motor (11) is fitted in the end of the arm (9) which is pivot supported in a fixed frame (6) which encloses the trunk.
