Abstract

The calorimeter for heating system comprises temperature sensors (13) (17) placed in the flow (11) and return circuits of the heating system (10). Each sensor is connected to capillaries (32)(33) coupled to fluid expansion cylinders (30)(31). The operating pistons of each cylinder are connected via spring-loaded drive cords to independent discs mounted on a common shaft. The discs are part of a swirling nozzle mechanism, the nozzle positions being determined by the temperature difference between flow and return circuit. According to the nozzle positions, a turbine wheel with fixed blades parallel to its axis (19) is made to rotate. The impeller drives a counter drum (20) via gearing. The counter shows the heat output of the system.
