Abstract
The hydraulic coupling comprises a bladed impeller wheel (10) on a driving shaft, a bladed turbine wheel (15) on a driven shaft (16), the bladed wheels being disposed opposite each other and forming together a working circuit for working fluid in the coupling. A bleed tube (26), for bleeding fluid from the working circuit is received at its inner end in a radial bore (28) in the driven shaft (16), communicates with an enclosure, e.g. a heat exchanger, outside the working circuit, and penetrates into and extends across the working circuit so that the free end of the tube is in close proximity to the periphery of the turbine wheel.
