Abstract

The holder for cylindrical workpieces (25) consists of a tubular body (2) with a conical seat (12) and a male screw thread (8). A three jaw taper collet (3) has its conical section (7) bearing on the seating (12), and has three slots (15) allowing the jaws to be compressed. A nut (4) is turned by a collar (23) action through grub screws (24) and a lever (5) attached by a thread. As the nut is tightened the conical section is brought down on to the sealing, compressing the jaws onto the workpiece. As the nut (4) is unscrewed the collet jaws spring apart, releasing the workpiece.
