Abstract

A pin or male element of a connector assembly is arranged so that it can be easily removed from the assembly. The pins are held such that they cannot rotate and hence lend themselves to wire wrapping techniques but can also be used for soldered connections. Each pin (1) has a rectangular shoulder (4) which is trapped within a short cylinder having two sprung inward leaves (5). This is itself held within the non-conducting body of the connector, the square sectioned tail (7) of the pin being seated within a nylon insert (10), this is used to release the sprung leaves when it is pushed up into the cylinder allowing the pin to be extracted.
