Abstract

A release mechanism with magnetic lock is used in electrical contact-breaker. It has a good amplification factor. The release mechanism has an annular armature (36) fitted to a striking pin (16). The armature (36) is in contact with two coplanar pole faces (40, 42) separated by an airgap (44). A permanent magnet (48) is fitted onto a sleeve (28) and has a force greater than the force of a coil spring (24) to hold the armature (36) against the pole faces (40, 42). A coil (52) is used to release the armature (36), and the striking pin (16). The armature (36) the sleeve (28) the pole piece (46) are made of ferrous materials. The striking pin (16) is made of plastic material.
