Abstract

A loud-speaker enclosure has good efficiency at low frequencies. It has two loud-speakers which are coupled by acoustical and electrical means. The enclosure has a rectangular resonating chamber. The chamber has a front face (1) with a main loud-speaker (6) over a circular opening. There is an internal panel (3) which divides the chamber into two compartments (4, 5). The first compartment (4) is closed and is subjected to pressures from the main loud-speaker (6) and an auxiliary loud-speaker (7). The second compartment (5) has a vent tube (10) which extends from the front face (1) to half way between the internal panel and the back face (2) of the enclosure. The vent tube (10) passes through the first compartment (4) without communicating with it. The main and auxiliary loud-speakers (6, 7) are coaxial. They are connected electrically so that their membranes (6a, 7a) move in the same direction.
