Abstract

The integral of a physical value such as acceleration from an accelerometer is determined to provide a numerical indication of speed. An input current (ie) is integrated by an operational amplifier (2) with feedback capacitor (3). The output voltage (Vs) is applied to two comparators (4, 5) to provide count and count down signals for two counters (6, 9). The second counter (9) is connected to a digital to analogue convertor (10) to provide threshold values for the comparators. It also provides signals to control switches (11, 12) which enable connexion of calibrated constant currents (7, 8) to the integrator and allow clock (13) pulses to be sent to the counters.
