Abstract
The sequential damper is for an elastic suspension system particularly on a land vehicle between the sprung and unsprung part, there being springs returning them to the midway rest position. it has a liquid-filled cylinder fixed to one of the vehicle parts and accommodating a piston with red fixed to the other part. From one end the cylinder diameter for part of the length is such as to exert a braking effect on the piston, while for the rest of its length it has an internal groove running in the axial direction, allowing fluid to flow freely from one side of the piston to the other. The damper is mounted in combination with a second one of similar construction and parallel to it.
