Abstract

The hydraulic cylinder (2) is connected to a control flap (4) via a lever (3). The opening cross-section of a heat exchanger pipe (5) is adjusted by the control flap (4). If the waste-gas temperature in the waste-gas pipe (7) rises above the predetermined set value, the liquid in the measuring pipe (1) expands and acts on the lever (3) and the control flap (4) with the effect of an opening movement. This solution offers the advantage that the maximum possible heat quantity is constantly extracted from the waste gas until the predetermined minimum temperature is reached. A considerable reduction of the heating costs in water central-heating installations is thus achieved.
