Abstract

The transport system has vehicles travelling over a floor and equipped with contactless feelers at the front following a track mark and controlling the front steering axles. Travel direction is controlled by a reversing switch on each vehicle. Each vehicle also has a sterable rear axle (10,11,13,14,16,17) controlled by a second contactless feeler (44). The cutting-in of the feeler controlling the steering is interlocked with the reversing switch. The steering gear of the two axles can be interconnected by a linkage so that both are actuated by a single control and in synchronism with each other, being regulated by the feeler at the front or rear end, depending on the travel direction.
