Abstract

The equipment consists of an observer system (1), producing typically a television video signal, a racker unit (2) and a two axis servo system (3) which drives the observer system (1) in a closed loop configuration. A monitor (4) is used to display the offset of the target from the centre of the observer picture. A window logic network (5) and threshold logic unit (6) feed a signal corresponding to the target, and its noise to a filter or centre of gravity calculator (7) which produces a best estimate in two co-ordinates of the target position, and this in turn is fed to the observer servo drive (3). An overlay network (8) allows the target to be marked on the picture.
