Abstract

Connector for connecting heat exchange pipe assembly to fluid chamber defined by a housing and to a collector is provided, with the collector consisting of a core of rigid plastic material, and an outer layer of more resilient plastic material. The collector has no flanges, but has holes for passage of the ends of the pipes which are applied under pressure to the walls of the holes which have sufficient depth to allow sealing of the passage. Pref. the pipe ends have a dia. greater than that of the pipe bodies, and the portions of enlarged dia. end in a widened flange which is supported against the surface of the collector facing the fluid chamber housing. Pref. the core of the collector is at least partially made of closed-cell material.
