Abstract

The compression-and packaging appliance is for stacks of flat bags. It has a packaging station open on one side, into which each stack is pushed by a press ram; simultaneously with a length of material, which is held ready on the insertion side to form a packaging collar. A movable slide is held in front of the packaging station, and consists of rollers in a frame. The stack is pressed against a stop, and the press ram may be retreacted along the lower side of the stack, as the slide advances. The rollers of the slide coact with tools to connect the ends of teh length of material. The frame carrying the rollers (26) may be lowered with its end away from the packaging station, during or after retreaction.
