Abstract

The electron beam of a cathode ray tube is deflected vertically by a circuit (8, 13 - 14) which operates with high efficiency and low power requirement. The driving power of the circuit (8, 13 - 14) is coupled to the vertical deflection coil (18) via circuit elements (13, 17), in the form of pulses derived from the horizontal deflection wave. The pulses in the first part of the vertical sweep interval are of one polarity and become continuously smaller, whereas in the second part of the vertical sweep interval they are of the other polarity and become continuously larger, so that the current in saw-tooth form (26) is generated.
