Abstract

The machine has a wheeled chassis (1, 2) and is pulled by a tractor. At the front are telescopic rods (3, 4) angled downwards to pick the vine prunings off the ground. These pass upwards onto a set of discs (6) rotating between the rods. Diametral projections (8) pick up the prunings and move them onto contra-rotating arms (17, 21). These operate between the discs and pull the prunings onto a grille (10) inside the machine. Another set of contra-rotating beaters (11, 13) take the prunings and pulverise them, using heater blades (14) operating against fixed blades (15, 16). The shredded material is ejected below the grille to fall on the ground as fertiliser.
