Abstract

The dividing head is automatically operated by the machine tool providing an input signal. The dividing head table is lifted off its cone seating by an hydropneumatic cylinder. Simultaneously, the locating pins are withdrawn by another cylinder. This feeds a signal to an air motor to drive a worm, rotating the table by means of a wormwheel. Stops are fitted to the table, these actuating air valves in the body. The stops pass a signal which operates the table cylinder, this pulling down onto the coned surface. At the same time, the locating pins are inserted to hold the table.
