Abstract

A plastic pouring spout and cap for a bottle is an assembly with a power insert (5) pushed into the neck of the bottle (1) and retained by a rim (17) engaging under a ridge (11) inside the bottle neck. The cap (4) has an upper part (6), a removable safety ring (7) and a lower ring (8). It is held in place by a ridge inside the cap engaging in a groove (10) on the neck of the bottle. After removal of the tear off safety strip, the cap (6) is held in place by a ridge engaging under a circumferential lip (18) formed as part of the puring insert. The cap can be simply pressed on and off, due to the flexibility of the material.
