Abstract

The prefabricated units (1) build portal section hangers. Each unit has a length (1) which is a fraction of the length of the completed hangar. Hinges (5) are provided at the junction of the roof (3) and the walls (4). The hinges (5) are fixed once the unit is erected on site, and end panels (61) give further stability. Connections between adjacent erected units are provided at internval on the walls and roof. The intervals are spanned by edge rebated planks (44) which fit over gauge blocks attached to the units. the units are frames of metal tubes with corrugated metal sheet cladding. The metalwork may be painted, galvanised or pre-lacquered. Sealing strips are provided in the hinge zones. The end panels constitute a double leaf sliding door.
