Abstract

The neck (4) of the bottle or container (2) has a screw cap (6) holding a bush (12), the joint being sealed by a ring (16). The pourer spout (18) fits into this bush, having a plug (20) on its inner end. This has a conical seat (22) against a corresponding face (26) on the bush. Orifices (28) are provided in spout and bush, also flow control baffles (30) in the spout. A spring (34) holds the spout closed until inserted in another container up to a flange (32, 36). Further pressure pushes in the spout and the plug off its seat. Flow occurs until the pressure is released or the liquid level reaches the spout opening (38).
