Abstract

Visual surveillance is performed by a remote video unit in conjunction with telephonic sound system and is used in such places as apartment entrances or in banks and may be used with automatic door opening facilities. It is mounted in spaces of limited dimensions. A video camera (5) is mounted on an adjustable plate (4) mounted on a carrier plate (1) which is hinged (17) to a case (6). The camera is mounted vertically with a mirror (3) on adjustable o ountings (7) above it and is adjustable relative to the focal distance and field of the mirror. The mirror mountings permit its inclination. The front panel (2) has a protective glass (11) for the mirror and the control buttons (12) are encased. A microphone (9) and loudspeaker (10) permit phonic transmission.
