Abstract

The vehicle is for the transport, loading and unloading of heavy and bulky loads such as freight containers, tanks etc, and comprises a tractor unit with a horizontal chassis and a semi-trailer accommodating the load. The forward end of the semi-trailer lifted by a false frame pivoting at the forward end on a transverse axis on the tractor chassis and at the rear end on the semi-trailer turntable. One or more arms (13) are fixed to the false frame (8), extending upwards and having at the top a pulley (14) on a horizontal transverse axis. Means are provided on the tractor chassis (3) for lifting the false frame, together with a winch (18) whose rop (19) is reeved round the pulley and anchored to the forward end (20) of the load.
