Abstract

The feeler device may be used to reconstruct the form of an object and it has a mobile feeler (50) fitted with one or more force sensors which produce an electrical signal when the feeler makes contact with the surface (52) of the object under investigaton. Mechanical means are provided for orienting the feeler is a given direction and for moving it on three perpendicular axes. A visible signal is recorded whose position is a function of the position of the feeler when the contact is made. The feeler may be a cylindrical rod (40) with an extensometer gauge bridge configuration (44, 46) mounted on its lateral surface.
