Abstract

The pallet base may be made from metal, wood or plastic. The base may measure from 2 to 6 m in length and 2 to 2.6 m wide. The base is equipped in the centre with a rectangular carrying frame which enables the pallet to be hoisted by a crane as an alternative to a fork lift truck. The base is fitted around the edge with a curb, which prevents the movement of any objects on the base when this is in motion. The base is fitted with a pair of slots underneath so that the fork of a lifting truck locate it firmly.
