Abstract

A spinning rotor is claimed for an open-end spinning appts. to process taple fibre matl., with an insert of hard, abrasion-resistant sintered ceramic matl. The design ensures that there is little wear in the zone where the fibres are mechanically twisted into the yarn, so that no ridges develop, giving a consistent fibre collection surface and the same geometric form in all rotors of the same machine independently of their running times.
