Abstract

A plate on the upper surface of the ski locates the ski boot. In front of this is a bracket (9) carrying a pivoting arm with pegs (6) to locate in holes in the ski boot welt. A lever (11) pivots (12) on this arm and is connected to the fixed bracket by a kidney shaped articulated link. The system is spring loaded (10) and, when the lever is pressed down, the arm descends to contact the welt. At this point, the pivot centre (13, 14) of the articulated link and the lever (12) are in line. Further downwards movement exerts pressure on the arm and locks the linkage.
