Abstract

N-Thio-urea derivs. of formula (I) are new, (where R, R1 and R2 are H, 1-6C alkyl, 3-10C cycloalkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, or 6-10C carbocyclic mono- or dinuclear aryl gps. opt. substd. by 1-4 F, Cl, Br, CF3, CCl3, NO2 or 1-4C alkoxy gps.; R3 is 1-6C alkyl; n = 1 or 2). Cpds. (I) are herbicides with pre- and post-emergence activity against broad-leaf and grassy weeds, e.g. Avena fatua, Echinochloa crusgalli, Digitaria sanguinalis, Brassica arvensis, Amaranthus retroflexus and Chenopodium album. In some cases the activity is selective.
