Abstract

The stake is for use in the supporting system of rows of vines. To avoid damage to the beater arms of harvesting machines, the stakes are designed to present a large surface to the beaters, rather than a sharp edge. One such type of stake consists of a U-section, which because of its shape is better able to withstand shaking by the machine. The wire guides bolted to the stakes are also designed to prevent damage to the beaters by having their ends rounded and bent at right angles. One type has a U section similar to the stake.
