Abstract

The track drive units consists of two output differentials whose outer ring gear wheel speed is controlled by a unit containing two hydrostatic pumps whose output shafts can be selectively regulated to run at uneven or the same speeds. The one shaft is directly coupled to one differential side and the second shaft is coupled to a fine trim unit consisting of an epicyclic gear whose outer ring wheel speed is retarded or accelerated by a hydrostatic trim pump. The trim pump is connected to a valve to control a high pressure hydraulic flow and return.
