Abstract

The crane is particularly for transporting packages through relatively narrow apertures in buildings. The front portion (1) of the jib slews about an axis (2) on the rear portion (3), which in turn slews on a further axis (4). The jib assembly is mounted on two supports fixed to a column movable up and down on the supporting frame. The latter is clamped to the building and supported on the floor. The handling container (C) can be suspended on two pulleys to prevent it spinning, being supported on a ball-type thrust bearing. Adjustment of the position of the column can be by the insertion of locking pins at different points.
