Abstract

The remote controlled switch for up to medium power (1 Watt) applications provides a bounce free make and break action and reduces the physical noise some forms of switch operation and the overall winding size. Two sets of contact carriers (14) are situated at the ends of an approximately rectangular plate (10). The contact carriers are held in one position by helical springs (13) which hold the contacts shut. The rotation of a spring loaded part annular ring (31) caused by energizing a winding (40) situated over a short part of its length, operates a cam system (26) acting against the springs, causing a smooth positive make or break. The major part of the ring is of some magnetic material, the remainder, maintaining balance, is of a nonmagnetic material.
