Abstract
The switch uses an elastic diaphragm or membrane and provides rapid open and close operations and small risk of contact bounce. The design also includes a panel arrangement suitable for such switches where they may be in a single block, or in the form of individual switch units. Each switch has an elastic inverted bell (18) supporting a central pillar (16) which is pressed down onto an elastic inverted bell (18) supporting a central pillar (16) which is pressed down onto an elastic diaphragm carrying on its underside two contacting elements. These make with two further contacts on the rigid base of the switch unit. The panel carries groups of such switches the centre operating rods of which are operated by covering square plan push buttons themselves trapped in the panel.
