Abstract

The flow control is achieved by sensing the pressure difference between supply and discharge and using it to control the position of the discharge valve. The valve body (2) is connected (1) to an air motor discharge port, the air flows into a chamber (2a) and thence via a small orifice (3) into another chamber (4). One end of the second chamber is closed by a spring (8) loaded piston (7) and the other carries an adjustable end stop (10) with a passage (5) to atmosphere. When pressure in the chamber (2a) rises (high motor speed) the piston moves progressively against the spring pressure to seal off the orifice (3) and reduce the flow rate.
